On a rainy day, Boyboy doesn't see a need to ask me "what to eat?" because he knows that I will be craving for steamboat during rainy season. But the question is "which steamboat to eat?". All the good ones are either in Puchong or Kepong. We wanted to go to Bone and Pot but definately the restaurant is full during peak hours.
So we took a ride to Uptown, the road where Xiao Fei Yang is located. Nope, I am not going to XFY cause I find the Ma Lat is totally not up to standard, so we decided to try out this new steamboat restaurant since there is a big banner indicating "Buy 1 Free 1 meat slices".
The staff explained to us on the menu (i.e soup selection, the prices) and we were given an A4 size of paper to tick the items that we want. The restaurant also have BBQ option to be put on top of the steamboat but we didn't opt for that. The BBQ is free though, you just need to order the ingredients.
Combination Soup: Ma Lat / Mushroom (RM23)
Since we presume it is a competitor to XFY, we ordered the Ma Lat and Mushroom soup. The Ma Lat soup was a bit diluted, not really spicy though. The mushroom soup was ok. But halfway through eating (and throughout the night), I was very very thirsty.
Sauce, mix yourselves at the counter
There is a counter for you to mix / create your own sauce. Mine was a mix of "Sa Cha Jiang", smashed garlic and some onions.
Meatballs (RM9), Mushroom (RM7), Vege (RM4)
Pork slices (RM10)
The texture of the pork slice was so-so only.
Sliced Lamb Leg (RM19)
I don't quite like that texture of the slice lamb leg, it was rough.
Since it was full house that night, the service was a bit bad. They keep on forgetting to bring our FREE pork slices after we have asked them 4 times. I saw lots of customers were complaining it as well. They mix up a lot of orders. Service could be improved. In addition, the sauces at the counter was not being re-filled even though it has finished.
