Chops and Steaks (The Ship) - kampung baru

This event has been so outdated, it was like a month ago. I managed to upload all the pictures in FB but couldnt find time to write about it. has been a month huh since Farah left, hope you are doing well, dont feel so pressure ya. For Farah's farewell, we went to "The Ship" for dinner.

The restaurant really has a big ship inside the restaurant. The cashier is located at the head of the ship and part of the kitchen is located back of the ship. Of course there are no dining tables in the ship ok.

These three love birds always mumbling mumbling with each other then they laughed miraculosly. Wonder what they are talking.

2 DSLR owners preparing the cameras.

The mango juice that I ordered was really 100% kao. It was really tasty but it fill up the stomach really fast, my stomach was bloated half way through eating.

Beef steak. Lots of fats that I have to cut it out.

Sizzling version. The size of the steak was not standard, some colleauges got a bigger piece and some got smaller piece.

Compare the photo above and below, you will see the differences in size.

Fried chicken. The chicen was really big pieces. It came with sweet and sour sauce which is nothing special.

Fish and chips.

Chicken chop.

French fries. Love it coz it is the thick version. The mayonaise sauce was nothing to shout about though.

There's Farah.

After dinner, we were camwhoring in front of the shop.

Sam You - Petaling Jaya

Dad is searching for some new options for chinese restaurant and he dicided to give this a try. The restaurant was full house at 7pm, lucky thing that we went earlier.

Siong Tong Yin Choy. The soup was quite good and has some wine in it. Too bad that the portion was too small, the bowl that the waitress brought translated to 4 small bowls of soup only. I wanted more. Signature beancurd. I quite like the sprinkle things on top, very crunchy.

Two-style chicken. The right hand side version has been minced together with fish paste and I like it. The left hand side version has strong pepper taste which was to my liking.

Signature pork ribs. We ordered 4 batang. This was so-so only.

Overall, it was not bad actually, better than average chinese restaurant.

Da Tuan Yuan - Bandar Baru Klang

My family and Jojo's family went and visit my GuMah (father's elder sister) house in Bukit Kemuning. After visiting, they brought us to Bandar Baru Klang for dinner. While we were walking towards the restaurant, I was shocked that the restaurant has allocate tables for outdoors. Almost the same scenario as Murni PJ where the tables were everywhere along the small street (in between 2 rows of restaurant) and along the corridor. The tables were 95% full.

My cousin's wife told us that the situation was worse during Mother's Day where practically people are just standing beside you and staring at you and waiting for your table. The same thing in KLCC food court.

My cousin made a reservation before hand as well as making the order. While we reached, we still have to wait for 10 minutes for table. My expectation was raised since this restaurant has so many patrons, I guessed it must be something really delicious.

The food arrived quite fast, within 15 minutes. Mayonaise pork ribs. The pork was half fat half meat, and was not crunchy enough. Ok lah.
Steamed chicken, which is not my forte. But I heard my dad saying the chicken was sweet.

Baby sotong. Wow! This one was good! Love the taste, love the baby sotong. I ate quite a lot, screw the cholesterol.

Claypot beancurd. Normal.

Steam boneless fish with soy sauce. Love the no-bone concept. The fish was fresh. Tasted not bad.

Stir fried brinjals and long beans. The taste was good and lots of 'har mai'.

Steam prawns with soup. The soup was full of wine, must be 'siu heng jao', and got a few biji of 'kei ji'. I took almost all the kei ji, coz I love it. The soup was really good and the prawns were really fresh. They cut the prawns into half and it was easy to peel with fork and spoon. I just dont like the fact that there was egg beneath the prawns, it just doesnt taste quite right together with the soup.

Besides, my aunty strongly recommend their homemade soya bean too. The dinner total for 13 person was RM210, which consider quite cheap. The food was not bad, and definately I will come back to try other dishes when I am around this area. But make sure to make a reservation before you come.

Turn right at traffic light and you will see Jusco Bukit Rajah on your left. Keep left and take first left turn. Go straight and there are a row of shop houses on your right, turn right in. Go straight until T-junction, turn left and until the end and turn left. DTY is on your left)

Curry prawns - Nibong Tebal

I wanted to go Bukit Tambun and try out the seafood there while heading back to KL. But Joe and Nicole said the seafood was not nice. So Joe suggested Nibong Tebal curry prawns instead. Luckily we followed behind Joe's car. If you follow the GPS, dont think we can even reach the place.

It was tiny little shoplot, a bit old, and can only cater for around 8 - 10 tables. We let Joe to do the ordering.

Steamed bread, best go with curry prawns.

Sugarcane drink.

1kg of curry prawns (RM70). The head was super big. Although the curry was oily but it tasted delicious. Can never find similar taste in KL. The prawns were big too. Each person can have around 4 -5 prawns.

Steamed fish. Normal.

Dont know the address, so dont ask me how to go there. If next time I am going to Penang, I definately will stop by this place and just eat the curry prawns. Who gives a damn on cholesterol??? This curry prawns definately worth it.

Heng's Wedding

Last Saturday went to Penang to attend Heng's wedding dinner. Early in the morning he sms-ed me and Nicole, saying 'morning, please drive safely'. So sweet of him still remember us coming from KL. [he is not busy in the morning coz he is picking up the bride on Sunday morning].

His wedding was in Red Rock Hotel. It was like 70 over tables. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by Heng and he has a list with him and he told us which table to sit. First time I see a groom taking the receptionist n usherer position.

We were seated 3 row from the front and it smack right in the middle. Heng really did gave us a good location. We were entertained by 3 ladies who sang the whole night, mixture of English, Hokkien and Mandarin. Albeit the sweetness of the singers, the sound system was a bit too loud and it made us try to catch up with ex-colleague tough. Until one point we just kept quiet and let them sing.

Each seats have a tiny cupcakes together with a cute box. [catch a glimpse of Joe, the food blogger who manned Lots Of Cravings). When he saw me, he asked Nicole whether I am wearing a wig. I take that as a compliment as I have spent RM30 for wash and blow hair that morning.

Me n Nicole.

Boy boy and I.

The bride Katrina and the groom Darren Heng entering. Katrina's Kua (chinese traditional costume) was really pretty. It has all the tiny little details with dragons on it.

They changed another set of costume for second march in.

Let's go to the food. Like the ribs.
Shark fin soup which was very starchy. Nicole has to use chopstick and eat up the ingredients without drinking the soup.

Buttered prawns. Very big prawns indeed. I peeled the shells for boy boy [I must emphasize on this].
Herbal chicken. The chicken was soft and the herbal soup was just nice.

Steam fish.

Fried rice.

Heng is not a good drinker. Until half way, he put down his 'hak gao beh' (gusiness stout I presumed) and took Boy boy's Sarsi and continue his yum seng. I thought he is gonna drunk by the night. But he surpised me when I received his sms at 11.30pm saying 'Thanks for coming, please drive safely home'. Aww....such a caring guy. Katrina is such a luckylady to have him.

Wish both of you faster 'jou sang kuai ji'!

I am so touched.

When the clock was 12am, I was expecting Boy boy to call but he didnt. The whole morning also he didnt even sms or call to wish me. I was like thinking 'how can he forgotten my bday lei??'. Around 11.30am like that, my colleague Moscow (his nickname) called me and said, "ada bunga". I disbelieving it but manage to bring myself out to the reception area.

Then there was it, a bouquet of teddy bears waiting for me to collect. I still stared at the paper see whether is my name or not. Moscow said, "since when u become datin seri??". I was like, 'what is he talking about?'. Then I realised that this fella addressed the name to: Datin Seri LSM. I also dem mou lek oredi.

Boy boy didnt leave his name on the name card but I knew it was him coz he likes to give me small small surprises. I cant stop smilling looking at the bouquet. So sweet of him lor.

But hor, that Moscow went and spread around that I am being called Datin Seri, so now the whole office knows about it. Luckily that day I wore a nice decent dress with decent necklace to show that I DO looked like a datin ok. Kena pranked by Boy boy gao gao this time. [if you have been screening thru my FB, u know that PY and AL kept on teasing me already].

The whole day PY was singing, "happy birthday to you! How old are you now~!!!" Then she laughed herself. Dem sui.

After work when I wanna go home, then AL and PY was at my desk there seeing some sms. When I wanna see, they dont let me. I suspected something suspicious (normally whatever things also we will kepoh together one). Then AL ran here and ran there, then she whisper to PY, "no lighter!".

Immediately I knew that they bought a cake and celebrating with me. When AL brought out the cake, it was slightly bigger than I thought (I thought it was only a slice with one candle for me to blow). The cake was given by my Manager, Sara. So nice of him. So Sara paid the money and AL and PY were the executors.

They kept on looking for lighter at the smokers' place but ended up finding cigarrettes. Then I said never mind la. So, AL, PY and Sumah sang a birthday song for me. So I have to act like blowing a candle lights off while taking pictures.

Happily posing with the cake and the bouquet.

PY said Boy boy will propose to me at night but I doubted her. I told her that when Boy boy wears t-shirt, shorts and slippers, I know that he will not propose to me oredi. Indeed, when he came and picked me up, he was in the attire that I was predicting = t-shirt, shorts n slippers.

We went to Rakuzen in Plaza Damas. The place was packed and we had to wait a while to get a table. The service was attentive, but the environment was a bit noisy.

Sushi and tempura bento set. The tempura came with 3 big prawns, pumpkin, ladyfinger, and mushroom. It was not oily at all and the prawns were fresh.

Dragon Roll. It was a short and fat dragon. The prawn was super big piece.

A row of sushi.

Stir fried egg plant. This dish was quite good actually albeit a bit salty.

Boy boy was satisfied with the meal and he kept on saying the food was quite good.

When I went back home, bro bought a chocolate strawberry cake from Bon Bon.

Cakes from Bon Bon was indeed very delicious. She put lots and lots of ingredients in it and makes Secret Recipe / La Manilla are at the lower class! The texture was soft and I wont feel geli after eating it, I can keep on eating and eating. It was that good!

Thanks everyone who make my day meaningful! My birthday this year was 1000x better than last year.

Aiya! forgotten to make a wish tiem!!! But never mind la, every year also the same wish since 3 years ago, also didnt come true. This year no need wish la, or maybe I wish myself stay healthy and safe, and happy always.
