Dae Jang Gum Korean BBQ - Seksyen 14

After painting the house for my mum (she refused to hire a painter to paint it even my bro offered to pay for it), I said I wanna eat out for dinner. Then I said I wanna eat Korean food (since my bro is not eating with us coz he does not fancy Korean food), then she said she treating us. Wahahhaa.....

So, we headed out to DaeJangGum in Seksyen 14 because we find this restaurant quite reasonable pricing and quite good as well. The Korean tea was free, you can refill unlimited times.

Christmas decorations! They are having promotion right now: Order above RM100 get 10% off the bill and above RM200 get 20% off. Promotion valid until end of this year, that would be another 2 more weeks.

As you know, Korean restaurant comes with a wide range of small side dishes. This DJG offers 12 of them! Their kimchi doesnt taste like kimchi though. Hehe.


Now, another complimentary dish. Spicy and sour vegetables. It tasted very nice! My family loves it as it is sour, it will boost up your appetite to eat more!


Steam Egg, complimentary as well. The texture was a bit rough. My mum said she prefers her own chinese style steam egg ("dan dan"). Lol.

3rd complimentary dish, sizzling corn with ham. When you eat this hot, it tasted nice as I super love corn. After a while when it was cold, the ham tasted weird. Anyhow, all things that come as complimentary is a plus-point to me. Now, our table is full of stuffs!


Each one of us has small serve of salad (I still prefer the western style salad), pepper sauce, korean BBQ paste and raw garlic.

We ordered Seng Dung Sim (Ribeye) - RM62, and Sam Gyoub Sal (Pork Belly) - RM28.


They grilled the beef first. Yup, you do not have to grill it yourselves as the staff will settle it for you, from grill, cook, to cut. Plus, you do not need to worry about the smoke of grilling as it will be absorbed by the tube-looking thing. Anyhow, your baju will get the smell though. The beef was nice and is quite a big serving. What we regretted was we didnt remove the beef when it was half-cook. By the time we remove it, it was a bit tough already. No doubt the taste was nice.

Next, they grilled the pork. I ordered the plain pork while I should have order the marinated one. This one tasted like ham only, no taste at all. What a foolish me....coz long time didnt take Korean food already. Next time, do order everything that has been marinated! Korean marinated sauce tastes superb!

Oh ya, almost forgotten to mention, they grill the meat with charcoal under it. Guess everything that are cook with charcoal is the nicest among all. Just like Hokkien Mee fried using charcoal.

We ordered Jab Chae (RM27). It was glass noodle fried with mixed vegetables plus mushroom. This dish was introduced by Nicole last time, and my family loves it! Healthy dish.


Last but not least, they served us cold rice tea and watermelon slices to cool your body down from all the BBQ heated meat that we have eaten just now. Complimentary again!


Overall, I will always be back to this restaurant as I loves their complimentary side dishes plus the corn and the vegetables. This is strictly personal taste (plus my family taste as well) as I have brought Scott here before and he doesnt like it. Price is quite affordable too! Plus the service was very good as the waiters were very attentive.

Total bill was RM122.85. They minus the 10% discount off your total, then only tax you 10% service charge and 5% government tax.
